Financial

Our researchers are encouraged to seek financial support of his/her work outside the auspices of the Foundation. Distributions are made directly to researchers, not to any other Institution by which the researcher shall be employed. Funds may not be used for overhead, nor to satisfy indirect costs of any other Institution. Funds may otherwise be used to defray personnel or supply costs or to purchase items of needed equipment. Items typically classified to indirect cost categories such as office supplies are not excluded from purchase with grant funds. Equipment purchased are identified as purchased with funds from the Foundation and will remain the property of the Foundation until fully depreciated. Ordinarily, the depreciation schedule for medical research equipment will be five years. At the end of the five years, title to the equipment passes to the medical researcher. The researcher will provide a report to the Foundation detailing expenditure of grant funds on an annual basis.

Sources of financial support

It is expected that donations from individuals and private corporations will constitute the major source of financial support of the Foundation. The Foundation may also accept contracts for performance of medical research in conformity with the goals above.
